Lund Aerospace and Rocketry Association (LARA) was founded in 2019 with the aim of building rockets and thereby encouraging students to develop their practical engineering skills. We meet regularly to build and develop our own rockets and we do everything from our own nozzles to our own software. Anyone with an interest in rockets is welcome to join our association and no previous knowledge is necessary – we are here to learn together!

Being a member of LARA is of course free and it entails no obligations, only opportunities! You are active in LARA on your own terms and do just as much as you want. As an active member you can work on different parts of the rocket, such as electronics, software, structures or propulsion. Or maybe you are more interested in designing mission patches or posters? You can do anything that you feel the most interested in!

In addition to building rockets, we organise other fun events. For example, we organise Rumtidskrökningen, a weekend conference for all student associations in the Swedish Astronomical Youth Association, which LARA also is a part of. Since other student associations there also focus on building rockets it’s a great time to learn from each other, but also to have fun and get to know people from other parts of Sweden.

If you are interested in joining the board or have any other position within LARA we have our annual meeting in February and everyone that is a member in the association is welcome to apply for a position. No previous experience is necessary, as long as you are willing to learn you will handle it perfectly!

Since LARA is a new association we are still under development so joining us now is a great chance to influence in what direction LARA should grow and what kind of cool rockets we should build next!

Feel free to contact us in case of any questions or if you just want to talk about how awesome rockets are!
